Help! ESA Q

Hi
I have just been placed in a WRAG and received the letter stating that I am on CB ESA. I am planning to appeal, but thats another issue. I have just made an appointment at the dentist believing that I was getting IR ESA whilst being assessed, I need to see a dentist as one of my problems is TN (Neuralgia) so I get loads of facial, jaw and tooth pain. Of course I thought I was entitles to free dental but have discovered that I now am not!!
My question is: How do I change from CB ESA to IR ESA? I have checked and I would meet the criteria for IR ESA as the only money I have is the ESA and that is also the only money I have access to? So anyone help?

    you dont need to change.

do you have a working partner?

ig you do then the chnces are you will have to pay towards dental costs inless on a low combined income.

if not then fill in a HC!, that will entitle you to free dental care and prescriptions ( assuming that ESA is your only income)

I do need to change if I want free prescriptions and dental care. ESA IS my only source of income. I live with my mother in a council house? I do have a bf, but he lives and looks after his mum who is bedridden, so as far as form filling goes I am classed as single.

    fill in form HC1

it gives you free prescriptions and dental treatment due to low income!

you get put onto cont based ESA automatically if you have suffucuent contributionsl you only move onto income based once your year is up.

    Thanks you:)
  • I can't help you with your question but just wanted to share my sympathies with your trigeminal neuralgia. I too have it and it's a nightmare. In my opinion it should be reason enough for someone to be unfit for work.
