A quick search on the Premier Inn and Travelodge websites for that date:

Premier Inn Manchester City Centre Deansgate Locks - £29

Travelodge Manchester Ancoates - £29

Travelodge Manchester Central - £32.50

Travelodge Manchester Central Arena - £32.50

There is also the Ibis Budget (ex Etap hotel) - if there's 2 of you and you only want a double room, that is coming up as £20.00. Otherwise, £25.00.

On the travelodge website. With travelodge you do really have to book it as soon as you see the price!

Hi, try The Mitre Hotel. It's in Manchester City Centre and about a 2 minute walk to the MEN. It's a budget hotel, that will surprise you and the food is amazing.

I recently went to the MEN arena to watch Michael McIntyre and stayed at the manchester central arena travelodge, it was only a 5 minute walk to the arena we could check in from 3pm and check out was 12pm. There is a small restaurant/cafe with a bar that is attached to the hotel and the bar was open till 5am.
