Very BNPL issue

Hi,
I recently had some problems with very.
I ordered a mobile phone on buy now pay later and received it the next day.
All boxes on ordering were ticked, and received the phone without payment as promised by the website.
Suddenly I started to get statements that said I owed them money.
When ringing they told me they did not accept my credit. but still sent me the phone.
I ended up paying extra costs because in their eyes I paid too late.
I had NO NOTIFICATION saying my credit was not accepted .
Is this right? Can they sent you products making you believe you are on BNPL but actually you are not?

[STRIKE]Can we assume BNPL means By Now Pay Later?[/STRIKE]
Have you paid for the thing yet?
If not, then you owe them money, don't you?
I see nothing wrong with that, unless they are demanding money from you before the BNPL agreed date.
But perhaps that is what you are trying to tell us?0 -

Have you actually read their post or just the headline? OP explained what BNPL meant and went on to say they ended up paying more money - in other words they have now paid but it didn't go through as a buy now pay later deal.0 -

Now we have that out of the way, can you offer any help for the OP?0 -
Well surely if it was BNPL and he was declined.
Then the only option is to either pay a alternative way, or to return the phone (Very would arrange this at their cost).
If he declined to return it and thought of claiming the difference back from Very from being out of pocket there isn't much we can do here.0 -
hi again and sorry for not being any clearer.
The BNPL was ment to be buy now pay nothing until 2013.
Everything went through fine. So nothing that said that I was declined the credit.
Until the next month I got the statement saying I am behind in payments,
How was I suppose to know?
Even spoke to their manager and she told me I should have paid. There was no way she was offering even returning the phone on their cost.0 -
if you cant get credit they would not have sent phone without payment in full before despatch, sounds like they never put you on BNPL and put you on the normal credit agreement where interest is charged, there is a rep on here maybe worth asking to be put on BNPL0

If you felt cooperative, you could offer to let them collect the goods in their current condition in full and final settlement of the matter. But I see n obligation on your part to do that.
So all you have to do is comply with the BNPL conditions. Having said that, they will argue [falsely] that your contract is immediate payment and default you and trash your credit record. It will be a fight, but they will be in the wrong.
Collect and guard your evidence that you bought on BNPL and that you never agreed to take it on immediate payment terms.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Hi Peet79,
This sounds like your order was not put over Buy Now Pay Later terms at the point of order. Your order confirmation email will show the payment terms on which the order was placed.
Alternatively it may be that your account has been charged for a delivery charge or financial product such as a Service Guarantee which would not be eligible for payment over the Buy Now Pay Later payment terms.
If you would like to email us at [EMAIL="Network@VeryHQ.co.uk"]Network@VeryHQ.co.uk[/EMAIL] then we can take a look at your account and help.
Many Thanks
Dave
