Insurance Co has lost my cheque???

Carol Nash, who insure my motorcycles sent me my insurance renewals for this year. I sent a cheque, which has been cashed, They, Carol Nash, say they have lost the cheque between them and their bank.
CN want me to send a bank statement, although that doesn't show who cashed the cheque, only the number of the cheque, so means nothing to them. My bank says it will take a least two weeks to identify who cashed the cheque.
CN are now going to cancel my insurance unless I pay £185 again which I cant afford.
Suggestions guys?
Thanks

If they've asked for the bank statement then send it to them - unless you want to pay them again. As you say, it wont tell them much but if its what they've asked for you should give it to them.
Whilst you could have written the cheque to yourself in another account it would be a fairly elaborate scam and one that will fall apart when they ask for a copy of the cheque - the rear of which will have info printed on it from the clearing process that will identify which account it has gone into0 -
I will have to send them the statement, but it wont tell them anything, its really annoying you have to spend all this time on the phone sorting out their problem. Why is that.....it wouldn't be like that if it was my error.
Thanks

You can censor the statement so that any personal stuff is unreadable. They only need to be able to see their cheque being paid.0
