PPI Claims

I took out PPI many years ago on mortage, credit card and loans. However, i made a claim and they paid out for a 12 month period.

Do I still have a case to claim the fees back ?

Also, issue is that now these loans and credit cards are in default with a payment arrangement - where do I stand ?

Do you think I can do a deal with the companies handling the defaults - I won't claim if you reduce the debt kind of thing ????

Any advise would be very helpful ?

Thanks in advance........

What makes you think you were mis-sold PPI in the first place?

Having PPI is not itself a reason for reclaiming the charges, the mis-selling of PPI is. You have known for some time you have PPI cover as you say you've already claimed on the policy!

What fees did you incur? or do you mean the insurance premiums?

They aer debts that need to be repaid.

The companies dealing with the defaults didnt sell you anything or have no liability for the advice you received. So, you wouldnt be complaining to them anyway.

On the assumption you mean you want to reclaim your premiums, you havent given any reason for complaint. So, that is difficult to comment. The fact you claimed on the policy and paid out would certainly eliminate a number of complaint reasons and often this means they pay out more than you paid in premiums. So, even if your complaint is successful, you wont get a penny back in those cases. If there is any surplus, it goes against the debt.

  • You claimed on it. So you knew it was there and you knew what it was for.

What are your reasons for claiming it was mis-sold to you?
