I want to find out more information about the changes to planning laws.
Any experts on here? Can you now buy some greenbelt and get planning for a house easier?

Hi JimBar
I'm no expert, but I think there are discussions about relaxing planning rules for green belt land.
Green belt land has always been cheap because you can't build on it. If the rules change and you can build on it, it will become as expensive as any other building land.
So, if you like a gamble, buy some now and hope that the rules change. Although prices may already be rising in anticipation, so you may lose money if the changes don't happen.0 -
whilst changes to the planning policies regarding green belt have been raised, these in my view are focused mainly on large scale alterations to the green belt immediately adjacent to large cities, principally as a way of delivering new large scale housing developments. I do not envisage the policies that govern development within existing green belt specifically for individual houses will change in the slightest. so in short, if you're thinking that these changes will make it easier for you to get planning permission for a new house in the green belt, think on i'm afraid.0

The rules have not yet been announced. The Govt has simply said it will consult on changes to the rules.0

It has been announced that there will be a relaxing of planning laws on green belt. The finer points are not yet available, but we can safely assume that there are going to be a lot of property built on green belt for some time.0 -

Perhaps you can provide a link to the new laws then?
As I said, the actual changes are still under consultation.0 -
Nobody is an expert on new legislation except (hopefully) the professionals!Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

But that's the point. There is no new legislation yet!
It hasn't been published or passed either as secondary or primary legislation.0
