When to hand in notice - currently renting and now buying

As with the last post above give yourself time things do go wrong or have a backup plan such as camping in someones house.
Last month I had a couple move out who had been renting from me for over 4 years they gave their months notice but did not complete because of something raised by their lawyer , they ended up another 6 weeks renting after notice period before they completed , I had someone lined up for the house who had to be delayed 2 weeks .As it happens the couple moving into mine also were moving cities and had a private landlord who like me gave them the extra time and like me just charged them for the number of extra days they were in the property , but you bet your life if you have an agent and you go over you will be compensating them left right and centre , give yourself the extra month0
