Moving pepper plants indoors from out?
Don't know if I'm being daft here but having lost all of my tomato plants to blight, my cucumber and courgettes plants dying off and my cauliflower being eaten alive, I'm pretty much down to carrots, parsley and peppers.
My pepper plants look healthy but they haven't flowered yet (flowers are there, just not opened). The weather has changed a lot and it's really cold here now so I expect they wont be doing much more growing.
I'm considering taking the best 2 or 3 indoors to a warm room in the hope I will get at least one pepper from them. (They are in planted in buckets.)
Daft idea or reasonable?

Never mind, I've just searched the net (should have done that first
) and you can indeed bring your pepper plants indoors. Herman - MP for all!

Yup you can, but I must say if your plant hasn't grown any fruit yet, your chances of getting any this season are very low....unless we have a very long Indian summer! Keep them warm and you never know :-)0

I agree although if taken inside, they might produce pods. They like warmth and some direct sun, which you can get from a window. I've had chillis pod over Christmas, albeit not profusely, so it's not really worth it.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
You could overwinter them indoors and get an early start next year."We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

Tbh, even if I didn't actually get any peppers now, I'd be happy if they just stayed healthy and they were able to be continued next year.
I've just rearranged things (moved 2 desks and shedloads of computer equipment and gadgets) so my pepper plants can have the sunniest window in the warmest room.
My OH will be so pleased. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!

If they're in pots it's worth a try but they need plenty of light and warmth, a conservatory or similar is ideal but bring them in on cold nights. If they're outdoor varieties then they'll need pollinating too, not so easy on indoor plants. Try a very soft brush or cotton wool dabbing on the open flowers and on at least two of them.0
