The rise of sleazy chat rooms only occurred when people started writing HTTP interfaces so the uneducated hoi polloi could use IRC. IRC has always been a tool of mainly IT professionals and other technonerds. Without a noddy http interface it was too difficult for the non technical user, but theres better interfaces now that take the technical skill out of itn such as MIRC.**** I hereby relieve MSE of all legal responsibility for my post and assume personal responsible for all posts.
