Thanks for the suggestion Eccle. I managed to get some clothes today fairly cheap and I do need some so not wasted money that's unless I eat to many pies lol.
She is being cremated and her ashes scattered on a rose garden where her daughter (my aunt) passed away some years back.
It is difficult knowing what to do or say, no one likes funerals. Odd thing is my OH just been told today that a workmates OH has just died to with cancer so that's another funeral for them to go too. Hope things don't happen in 3's0 -
poundland do a big block of oasis on gardening isle.
You could buy the flowers she loved and make something really lovely and very personal with this and it should last longer than a bunch if you soak the oasis well.
Sorry to hear your loss.My Nan raised me.
Take care and chin up for the good memories.0 -
Sorry to hear about your nan ... my nan died in my arms so I know how you feel .
You have sorted the flowers now but for anyone else out there wondering ..when my ex`s grandad died I picked flowers and pretty leaves etc from his own garden and made a bouquet - it looked stunning and cost nothing..but I knew it would really mean something to him as he had nurtured those flowers himself.
hope eveything goes ok ...I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0 -
this is the poem from
four weddings and a funeral
which is what we had at my dads funeral,
with abit of wording it could be for a female,
I would like this at my own funeral
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
-- W.H. Auden
