Just lost my dear Gran (Nan I call her) Yesterday, she was I think 95+ EDIT 96
Haven't been to a funeral in donkeys years. I assume is best dress and black so have to go and get some new clothes, haircut etc. Anyhow I ain't loaded so as I am a regular mse, anyone know of a decent supplier on net that can do wreaths cheap, maybe with cashback
The funeral is a week tomorrow
RIP Gran

I'm sorry, I don't know of anywhere but wanted to say I'm sorry to hear about your nan (hugs)"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0

I always use a local florist for my flowers etc so again I can't help but my condolances on the death oof your Nan, I hope you have many happy memories of her and once you get over the immediate shock of the loss these will be a comfort to you.0

Condolences to you and your family, when my Grandad passed away last year we had a 'family only' funeral.
Mum didn't want masses of flowers left at the end either, he was getting cremated, so we had a family wreath.
I dressed up a little, smart black pants (my going out ones) and a dark jumper from Tesco's, I then had an anorak in the car if it was cold.Panda xx

Hi Poppycat.
Sorry to hear about your poor nan.
When my mom died a few years ago we paid a fortune for wreaths, have you thought about other flowers? maybe if you know what her favourite flowers/colors were you could get your local florist to do a posy or something like that. Remember its the thought that counts, your nan im sure would appreciate that not the amount you spend.

Have you thought of clubbing together with other family members for a wreath from Grandchildren etc.
When my parents died we sent one wreath from myself and brother and sisters and one from the grandchildren.
When my FIL my MIL only wanted family flowers. Trouble was she wanted to choose our flowers at a cost of £200. My OH thought this was a waste of money. He and his sister eventually went halves on a wreath but then his sister and mother ordered an anchor from my OH and his sister too. Thankfully my neices gran is a florist and she made all the flowers for us so only cost us £65 each - which I still thought was extorinate.
I think a simple rose can look just as effective with a nice ribbon and card. You can then give the money to your grans fav. charity.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

Hi
sorry to hear about your loss,
right, get yourself down to your local flowist,
where you should be able to buy some sellofane, and ribbon and card,
there dirt cheap at the florists,
then buy some flowers which your gran liked,
and arrange them like these's,
or you could be more adventures and go with these's shape'sthese can be filled with water, and can be made so cheaply,
hope all goes well

try here
http://store.teleflorist.co.uk/catalog/Welcome?catid=38&source=google&gclid=CJiA1oaTpYsCFT4GQgod70VklQ£16.95 not much to look at but still nice for the price,I know when my mum died I got her an end-end to match the big one on her coffin, it was £45 which for a few flowers and lots of greens was abit pricey,

Thanks all for your help and kind words.
I thought about clubbing with family but some of family havent been in touch seem to have moved away from home town and kind of lost touch, still there is plenty of family still around.
I just want to do my own thing so was like a mother to me far more than my own and she did bring me up for a few years in the 70's and fed me in 80's when I was a student.
She encouraged me to garden in her lovely garden and I no she loved roses and carnations.
Thanks all0 -
so get yourself to morrisons they do cheap but really nice bunches of roses carnations,
get in your or a family/friends garden and get some greenery,
make up your own bouquet that wont bust the bank and you still went to the effert,
or you can buy the makings of a wreath at the flowists, and put your own flowers in. you'd have to do this the day before the funeral and keep it in the shed/garage somewhere cold over night,
but doing your own is always worth it, and you'll feel better about them
instead of thinking god I spent all that money on that small thing,
it all depends on how much you want to spend really, what you could do is give some money to the plate, they always have a plate at funerals, then 2 weeks after the funeral get some nice flowers and go see her grave and put the flowers on then,
hope this helps
its a trying time at funerals,
I have had 3 since 2000 my sister my dad then my mum,
it can be an expensive time but it dosn't have to be,
god bless

ps have you thought of something quite simple,
something abit like this but less gliter some ribbonsimple but a statement of love,
