Yes you are. diets dont work. yes in the short term you lose a few pounds but in the long term as soon as you stop dieting back on the weight goes.
the reason is that any hint of deprivation (which diets are doing to you) and the body stores up fat for a rainy day.
so your choice is yo yo diet or eat rabbit food and have hunger pains for the rest of your life.
alll this is because the diet industry (worth about 31 billion per year doesnt sort out the underlying problem for your weight gain.
Do you ever get honest with your self and think about the true reason you have a weight problem?

Who I am is not important. What I do is.

yeah, I thought about it and realised it was because I ate too much - so I ate less for a year or so and lost five stone.0

well, it's like anything.. the companies who make 'miracle' anti-ageing cremes, the companies who made diet products.. That's what marketing/advertising does, - it convinces you to spend £££s on their products by making you feel inadequate.
There are probably myriad 'true reasons' why people have a weight problem. Lack of exercise, drinking a lot of alcohol, taking certain medications, .. oh and eating too much :rotfl:0 -

I didn't eat enough, and what I did eat was not healthy - so in fact what the OP describes applied to me pre diet, not now!

Fad diets do not work, that is true, but a good healthy eating diet can be very beneficial. I follow the Slimming World plan, I have lost a stone and a half and have no intention of going back to my old ways.
What exactly does a healthy diet have to do with weight loss?
Most body builders eat a healthy diet to put on weight. most sports men eat a healthy diet to compete and burn lots of calories. Some thin people eat what the industry classes as an unhealthy diet. many fat people eat a lot of health foods. many fat people skip breakfast.
Is your healthy diet in fact riddled with sweeteners, colours, pesticides and other chemicals added by large companiesWho I am is not important. What I do is.0 -
I've never been able to get on with dieting. I joined Weightwatchers once and it made me really miserable and think about food constantly.
For the last year and a bit I've just been eating less, and lost 2 1/2 stone so far.0 -

There's a huge difference and other things are involved. Athletes can eat anything between 1500 calories to 6000 depending on what they do but look at how much they train and how much they burn.
I'm starting on a healthy eating plan to lose weight. I don't call it a diet because i'm not dieting, i'm just eating good food that isn't full of sugar or fat or that isn't fried in a ton of oil. It's just good, healthy food. And it hasn't cost the earth.
I think your OP is a tad pointless and if you were more informed on the subject you would see things differently or at least understand more how these things work.0 -

OK.
So what are the reasons for weight gain.
And how is this addressed in order to decrease the amount of bodyfat?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll
