We stayed on board in Civitavecchia and enjoyed a day on deck in the sunshine with very few people around. Service at lunch was impeccable!0

Agree with joerugby. Enjoy a day on ship and have most of it to yourself.0

It's not a bad seaside town. The docks are huge, but the shuttle drops you by the old harbour walls. The town has a promenade, quite a few shops, market stalls selling various touristy stuff and even antiques, numerous pizzerias, bars and gelaterias, and a beach which is OK for swimming. You can also hop on the train to some tiny seaside resorts just to the south.0
