Highly recommend them. I have a number of fixed rate bonds with Close Brothers - one of which is just maturing. They wrote to me in advance offering various options including a reinvestment rate of 3.8% for a new 2 year bond.

I have had several fixed term bonds with Close Brothers over the years (they usually have quite competitive rates) and would not hesitate to recommend them, very good service and if you have to ever call them, calls are answered promptly and staff are polite and helpful.

On previous fixed term bonds Ive had with Close Brothers, they pay out the annual interest via chaps (FOC) to your nominated account.

I got email today about this latest offering from them:
    Limited Premium Gold offer
2 year fixed term fixed rate at 3.75% AER/Gross PA*

We are delighted to announce that from Monday 10 September 2012, our new fixed term fixed rate deposit account paying a competitive rate of interest will be available to personal customers.

Key features of our Premium Gold fixed term deposit account:

2 year fixed term paying 3.75% AER/Gross PA
Interest paid annually and at maturity to your nominated account
Minimum deposit of £10,000, maximum of £2 million per account
No early withdrawals or additional deposits during the term
This is a limited offer, subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time without notice**
We will only accept one single payment using one method only
Only available to personal UK residents aged 18 and over

Premium Gold 3.75% 2 year fixed term fixed rate: http://www.closesavings.co.uk/accounts/premiumgoldaccounts/
Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk

Me too :) Nice to see they are giving existing account holders who are willing to reinvest, a bit extra - :rotfl:every little helps
  • They give a general sort and acc number to send to and will pay interest from when it hits their account, but is it ok to do that when you havent yet had your account processed or got a personal account number?
  • That's interesting, just got my re-investment invitation at 3.75%!!!! Should I feel offended?

    Very interesting.

I got my reinvestment invitation around 20 August for a £20k bond maturing on 17 September. Does that shed any light - or did they just want to offend you :p

Do they have protection from FSCS and if so are they affiliated to another bank?
