Don't have an MPRN, can I still get the MSM cashback?

I moved into my flat about a month ago, and have just got around to sorting out the utilities.
I tried signing up to EDF Blue+ through MoneySuperMarket a couple of weeks back (and see now that I've missed that deal) but got stuck needing a MPRN. Phoned Transco to find out what it is and they say I haven't got one and they've got no record of my flat having a supplier. I know it has gas though for the hot water and central heating.
So now I'm looking at the Scottish Power deal, anyone know if I can still get the cashback if I have to phone MSM to sort it out?
Also, do I have to do anything about the current electricity supplier (Southern Electric) as they haven't set an account up for me yet?

Has it got a shared supply with downstairs?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Since suppliers are not psychic, they won't set up an account unless you tell them you've moved in...
The procedure is that you register with the existing supplier(s) on day one and submit opening meter reads. If you didn't do that how will you verify your first bills?
Obviously if you are shipperless this doesn't apply to the gas, but you need to register with SE (with whom you are in a deemed contract) for an account, and then once that is done you can switch if you wish-it will take around 4-5 weeks.
I'd be tempted to wait until the gas MPRN is sorted, then you can apply for the dual fuel tariffs and cashbacks. Just stay on SE Standard tariff for electricity in the meantime. No free lunch, and no free laptop
