Moving from Orange....to Orange!

Options
Guys,

Strange one this. I'm into my last month of my contract tomorrow. What i want from a plan (Panther26), they want to charge my £160 for the handset (Galaxy S3). I can get a better deal elsewhere of course, and the one i'm looking at is via Phones 4u.

However, the new plan i'm looking to buy is the Panther36 from Orange for 28.50 a month with the S3 for free (and the £75 quidco!). The problem is that i can't transfer my number over from my old contract as i will have 2 orange contracts, so will have to wait for 30 days until my old contract expires.

So, in essence, to stay with the same provider moving my number to my new contract will take 30 days, to move to a completely new provider would take a couple of days (PAC code, etc.).

Does this sound a bit crazy to anyone else? Will be ringing retentions tomorrow!

    Replace 'T-Mobile' with 'Orange'.

It may take a couple of days to move to another provider, but you'll pay for the remaining 30 days regardless. Moving to another provider, than back to Orange is not different as porting the number out terminates the existing contract.

Sounds like a bit of a pain to do (especially getting a PAC code immediately from the provider you've ported to).

Will have a think about it, might move providers completely now!

    thanks again
