Does anyone have problems with their Pure Tempus clock radio?

When my original Tempus went wrong last year I bought a replacement at a concessionary price from Pure.
I usually have the radio on "Snooze" at low volume for 15 or 30 minutes as I drift off, and once or twice a week the replacement (the Tempus-1s) would turn itself back on a few minutes after turning off. To make matters worse it would come back on at the volume I set the alarm, thus making sure I was well awake just as I had dozed off.
Pure eventually agreed to swap it out and the replacement was much better, but just recently it has been getting worse and has woken me up three times in the last week.
Before I do battle with Pure to get another replacement, I thought I'd mention it here to find out whether anyone else has had similar experiences or could suggest why it might be happening. I did wonder whether it might somehow be affected by a cordless phone which I used to have on my side of the bed, but we moved that to my wife's side and there was no improvement. There's a bedside lamp about a foot away from it, but I find it hard to imagine that it could have any effect.
It's a shame because I like various features of the Tempus, but I'm not prepared to be woken regularly like this, so any comments/suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks for that link. It does indeed seem like a very unreliable radio, especially as it's not cheap. However none of the reviewers mentioned my particular problem, although I did find one in the Amazon reviews. It just seems strange (or very bad luck) that I should have had two radios with the identical fault."The trouble with quotations on the Internet is that you never know whether they are genuine" - Charles Dickens0

I've got an old Pure 'Bug' which Amazon says I've had for 6 years. That's always been a complete heap of junk. The hardware design is a triumph of style over function, and the software is worse. I won't list all its 'issues', but my major bugbears are :-
1) Alarms always go off on time (if it hasn't crashed overnight) but often with the volume set to zero for no apparent reason.
2) It frequently forgets to turn off at the end of a sleep timer - which I use almost every night.
If I have to get up for something important I use the alarm on my phone, otherwise I just can't be bothered to deal with a different set of bugs in a different device.0 -
I was so relieved to see someone else having problems with the radio coming on randomly throughout the night. This is my 3rd Tempus radio and it has happened each time. I thought I was going mad. I think it happens when I use the sleep function but not every night. Just randomly - last night it went off at 1:00, 2:58 and 5:00. It comes on at high volume then almost immediately fades to nothing. Help! Should I just give and try something else?0

Wow, I am gutted and very upset. I've got Pure Tempus 1S and have had it about 5 years. It cost £100 and I paid another £30 for the extra speaker.
It's developed the habit of turning itself on in the night (light sensor methinks - triggered by getting up in the night even if you don't switch a light on) and the super 'eco' OLED screen is dying very quickly.
I contacted support and was referred to the "out of warranty repairs team" who said "we don't make it anymore or have parts but you can have 20-30% off a new unit" .... am I tempted? Ummm, how can I put this - you must be joking.
Prior to this failure I thought Pure were the bees knees and one of my favourite new companies. The end.0 -
I got a Pure radio (one with voice synthesis for my partially-sighted mum). The voice announcement doesn't correspond with the display at all, i.e. it will say "Absolute Radio" whilst displaying "XFM" on the screen... Making it slightly less useful than if it lacked the speech synthesis altogether. I really should have sent it back... :-/
For £70 the sound quality is pretty poor too... although maybe that's the awful digital compression that DAB uses... and it's only in mono (just one speaker)...
Not my best purchase...0
