Hi,
Not been on here in ages but the renovation project is back on track! I spent months stripping old lead paint and then months doing nothing at the house becuse I was fed up.
In then ended up ripping out the old doors, architrave and stops (very carefully so I didn't ruin the newly plastered walls)
Just having the new doors, architrave and skirting fitted now. It looks quality and I am full of enthusiam to finally finish this project off :-)

One question on the doors upstairs which are 4 pannel where would people put the handles http://i45.tinypic.com/mu62x.jpg
We are going to put them at 1 meter up as inline with the horizontal bar is too low (hope this makes sense)
What is the norm?0 -

1mt is roughly the centre of the door (actually 39" on a standard 78" door) and is what i do them at. Because some doors may need trimming in the height, little adjustments may be needed here and there if doors are in close proximity, so they look right.
I am a joiner and have done thousands at that height unless told otherwise by the customer.0
