Does anyone know the best and safest way to wipe the screen on my laptop, to make it really clean?

I've only had my Dell Inspiron a week, but already have smears on the screen. But don't want to damage it, by wiping with a j-cloth!

thanks

A slightly damp, clean microfibre cloth.

i use, you know those washing up scrubbers with the green scrubber on one side, and the sponge on the other. get washing up liquid and put a little bit on it, squeeze it so its not too wet but just enough bubbly liquid on there. now clean the screen with the spongyyyyyyy side only. make sure the sponge is not wet and nothing is dripping. rinse it under water, until you get most of it off then just dry it with an old cotton t-shirt.

there you go, not worth a penny and leaves the screen non scratched and spotless.

After searching the internet myself when i needed to clean mine (was not prepared to pay about £6 per tub of wipes from currys) i read about using reading glasses wipes. This is what i use now and the screen comes up very nice. I use a soft make up brush to clear the dust first then use the wipe for the dirty bits. Glasses wipes have to be very gentle so as not to scratch the surface so therefore is good enough for my screen too.

Im currently using a box i got from the £1 shop. It has 30 wipes in it all individually wrapped. They remind me of the wipes you get with a screen protector kit which you clean with before applying the film.
