Thanks guys, very useful. I am shopping around this weekend when the courtesy car gets collected.

I have seen some pretty good deals on the Peugeot 307 (01 to 03 reg). The car still has a modern look and a good number of extras.

    Any recommendation/opinion for those?

The Fiat Stilo also has good prices, but I seen that reliability can be a problem.

Avoid the stilo, one of the most unreliable cars built by Fiat. I had its preprocessor, the Tipo and that was bad enough. No doubt some Fiat fan will magically appear saying his car has never gone wrong etc etc. Its not a bad car, I used to like the panoramic roof, and the sports model is a hoot to drive.

Peugoet aren't exactly famed for their electronics.

TBH, you've already been given the best advice, get another Focus or mondeo. Petrol.

Seen way too many FIAT's broken down on the A61 dual carriageway in Chesterfield, Just behind the dealership.

Run out of fuel on test drives or actually broken down? Who knows but that put me off buying one.

Also having to order air and oil filters. Because they didnt keep them in stock.

    Silly.

I went to the LR dealer and they had a clutch slave cylinder for a 20 year old Range Rover on the shelf and under £40.

Peugeot 307,have a couple of times come worst for reliability in the jdpower customer satisfaction survey-avoid like the plague.
