Hi
Basically my son has fallen out with me and my other half and has moved in to his Nan's.
She is in her late 50's and on benefits, from middle of September she is being put off incapacity benefit on to unemployment benefit. My son is 18 years old and getting £56.25 per week unemployment benefit.
Could anyone tell me if him moving in with his Nan would make any difference to her benefits. The only thing she will be getting is unemployment benefit, council tax paid and housing benefit.
Thanks

He can't be treated as in a relationship with her, as he might if he moved in with another female.
He will modestly affect her council tax benefit, if he is able to work.
Why is your nan being 'put off incapacity benefit'.
If she is being migrated from incapacity benefit to employment and support allowance - this is _NOT_ the same as unemployment benefit.
She needs to have filled in the relevant forms properly, and if she has actually had her decision that her IB is ending, she needs to consider if an appeal would be successful.
Clearly, it's impossible to say on the facts above, but if she is unable to legitimately seek fulltime work, she may not be able to claim JSA. (unemployment benefit)0
