Part P? Please help

Might have a bit of a problem and was wondering if anyone can help
Early last year I fitted a new bathroom at home, put in some spot lights in the ceiling and electric undertile heating. I'm pretty competent when it comes to DIY and if I say so myself, its looks great
Problem I have is that we are now in the process of selling and moving house but at the time I wasn't aware of the Part P regulations surrounding electrics in the bathroom!!!
Apparently a survey is taking place shortly and I'm concerned as to whether or not I've got a problem! Can anyone advise? Is there anything I can do?

You have 2 options.
1. Lie & say the work was done before part p started. (Not that I would recommend this)
2. Have a periodic test carried out by a competent electrician who will give you a certificate. It is best to have a large company to do this as they often underchange in order to make money from any work that needs doing. Then have several quotes for the work (if any) that needs to be done.
Don't you have to have an electrical test now for the new house selling pack anyway?

not too sure whether an electrical test is required but just worried
have heard that the buyers are having a home buyers survey and the guy is likely to be there an hour or two. wondered whether he would pick up on it??0 -
Pretty sure an Electric report isn't mandatory in a HIP.
99.99% certain that a surveyor would say get an electrician in to check. Surveyors aren't electricians, they won't give an expert opinion on the state of the electrics. The solicitor is likely to ask about any work and Building Regulation approvals though.A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

Good evening: Electrical checks are not part of HIPS ...see http://www.homeinformationpacks.gov.uk/hipbenefits.aspx for more info on changes to the home buying/selling process. You are required to notify Building Control for any electrical work covered by Part P of building regs and have a compliance certificate. Many solicitors are now asking for evidence that new boilers also notifiable see here at https://www.trustcorgi.com, double glazing (FENSA), electrical works etc is legit...it happened to us but no probs as we did all works to building regs. and had relevant certificates.
