I bought an H20 mop in September and it turns out it's a fake (it broke after a few uses.) There are numerous counterfeit copies on the market apparently, trading under various company names. Wow Deals where I bought mine from is now trading as Bargain Dealz with the same company name and identical website. There are numerous other ones too...

I contacted the manufacturer, Thane Direct and they told me that the ONLY genuine copies are being sold by themselves (either via their own site or 'Thane Direct' shops within Amazon and e-bay), QVC, and Robert Dyas.
ALL OTHER COMPANIES ARE SELLING FAKES...that's if you recieve them at all, as many people don't it seems by the forums.

I paid by Visa Debit so was able to raise a Visa dispute with by building society...I'll update when I hear more.

If you google 'fake H20 mop' you'll find loads of people being duped around the world by this scam :(

    Hope helpful

  • Ordered X5 steam mop and Swivel Sweeper from Free Choice TV as they advertsied 'as seen on TV' and had the cheek to use Thane Direct tm pictures (funnily the web has now altered!)
Returned sweeper 5 months ago and after about 30 emails and resending proof of postage nothing. Stupidly kept fake mop and after about 5 uses has now overheated so dangerously cannot touch it. Warned Thane Direct about fakes, but they must be sick of hearing about it now :(

Avoid at all costs or you will also be over £100 out of pocket with nothing to show.

They should be closed down immediately.

Did you receive your mop/steam cleaner?.I've ordered one with this company but have not yet received it. Tried to contact company today for estimated delivery date but now realise there is no telephone contact no. available. Extremely worried as they have taken money from my account.

I ordered a mop from this company too and I did receive it about 10 days later. Unfortunately the instructions and packaging were all in Spanish so it was useless and it only worked once, plus the handle was damaged! I have been trying to resolve this with the company since November, but communications are slow and only via email. I would not recommend anyone to purchase anything from this company as their customer services are non existent. Has anyone had any success with this company?
  • I bought h2o steam mop. After 3 months it broke down. I Emailed the company. The email address is not existing anymore. There is no tel no either. Pls if you had the same experience report it to watchdog. I am going to do it. Watchdog will investigate if there are a lot of complaints from the same company. Let's try to get our money back or at least warn more people for the scam.

We ordered the steam mop from Freechoice Tv in September 12 but got nowhere. They always said it was in the post or being delivered by the Royal mail and even gave a tracking number but the Royal Mail said the number was invalid. It is a scam company. We eventually got our money back from the credit card company. The emails were hard to understand as they came from Italy? I have contacted Watchdog to highlight this rogue company!
  • Took ages for them to deliver - broke 10 minutes after starting to use it - returned in November 2012 but not yet been replaced. Can't get hold of them on the phone and previous email address used no longer works!

I have cleaned my sofa several times using this mop as per the manufacturers instructions and last week I noticed after a while that there were marks on the cushions. I realised that they were not marks but the sofa has been scorched. I have written and spoken to thane direct who have made it clear to me it is not their responsibility. I have had to buy 2 new sofas as a result because the cushions are ruined.
I have contacted watchdog as a last ditch attempt but do not want to give up there!
Does anyone have any advice on how best to proceed with this?

I ordered an X5 H20 mop in October 2012. They said they had sent it and it had been tracked and received - yet I had not received it - i checked the tracking details with the post office and they said it had been sent to a different address (not my address) I contacted Freechoice and they said they had sent it to me and if I didn't receive it then it was my problem!! even though they had clearly written the wrong address! However as someone had signed for it at the incorrect address they said their bit was done!! 25 emails later they finally called the steam mop back and sent it to me (December 2012) I used the mop for 5 minutes and it stopped working!! I contacted them via email (They refused to give me a phone number) and they finally sent me an address I could return it to, they agreed to refund the postage and the price of the steam mop! It's June 2013 and 42 emails later I still havnt received a refund!!! They sent me a number of emails saying we'll do it tomorrow, we'll do it next week however no money was refunded! I am very frustrated by this scam company! Please can you help?

    Hello

How did you raise a compliant with Visa? I think I may have to do this as I have been promised a refund since December and I am still waiting 6 months later!!! Our last correspondence was end of march then I got really frustrated as only 1 in 5 emails were answered with the same lies - we'll refund you tomorrow!
