Ikea kitchen

Has anyone bought a flatpack kitchen from Ikea?

If so, how long did it take to deliver?

Thanks :D

Had 2 from them, now & really impressed, too! First one was in gloss blak, but not available currently, second one, in the new place, is gloss red - everyone impressed with them, too!

Delivery was exactly when they said, driver foned us on the day, an hour or so before it would be at the house & everything arrived as it was ordered, with exception of a piece of trim, which we were alread advised was on back order. This came by post a few days later.

So, depending on which style you choose, maybe just a couple of weeks wait!!

& have you used the FREE downlaodable kitchen planner, on https://www.ikea.co ? It works real easy, after a couple of attempts & actually prices it as you design your kitchen! 3D views & hours of fun designing just what you want!!

What you MUST do, before you order, is get an Ikea store card, you can do this in store, on the day, 'cos you get 5% off your first purchase!! So buy the kitchen & anything else you need, in one go!

Assuming you're able to pay it off as soon as the bill arrives, of course!!

Thanks for the tip - this should save me a good few quid soon!! Just one question - did you need any i.d. etc when you opened the store card account - i'd hate to get there and find I need something.

We didn't bother with the storecard as apparently the credit limit they give you is usually rubbish, so not worth the extra credit check etc as we could not have paid for the whole kitchen anyway.

We had one installed in November - white gloss. Really pleased with it. Delivery as promised and nothing damaged (unlike friend's delivery from B & Q).

One thing to watch is fitting wall units. Joiner moaned the whole time as there is no adjustment to fittings and wall has to be exactly flat behind units. I think he had to make some adaptations here. Despite his complaining he was really impressed with the finished kitchen and its cost as compared to other kitchens he fits.

Can't recommend IKEA kitchens highly enough.

Bought 2 kitchens in the last 6 months one to sell a house and for the new house only problem was the sink wastes on the first kitchen far to big and awkward they have now changed the design. The only longer wait you may have on your kitchen is if you order something a bit different like funny shaped tops.

Ikea kitchens are lovely and I would consider them myself next time but I would not fit their sinks......two people I know have them and both sinks have rust spots which is not ideal on a supposed stainless steel sink.

Agree about the sinks, we didn't like the choice, so got the oval shaped one from Wickes £89.99.

Know what is meant about the credit limit, think it is maximum of £3400 (or similar amount) & they wont raise it, 'cos we asked, too.Only needed to show our ordinary credit cards as ID.

You also get free tea/coffe/fizzy if you show your Ikea card, in the resteraunt!!

But you'd have to want a BIGGGGGG kitchen/initial spend to reach that level!!

Didn't get the appliances from Ikea, other than the snazzy, neat fold away extractor - LUFTIG HOO B01 S - for £110.

Think they also give a loooooooong warranty, too, now!!
