geraniums making me ill

I have loads of different sorts of hardy geraniums in my garden and I must admit some of them can be a bit 'dusty' when dug up and divided- almost like they give off spores ? I'd hate to be allergic to them though as they are so useful and dog proof!! (ie he wees on them but doesn't kill them very often!).0

that's exactly it, no problem at all until I stick a fork into them and its like dust raises off them. I have given them a good cut back but avoided damaging the roots and I didn;t have a problem - anti-histimine helped I think. I will wait until I can get someone to help and get them to clump them for me.0
