Not in it's normal seating position but when turned on it's side yes it would go though most normal width doors. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Does look a bit tight from your diagram. Things to check are how easy can the doors come off ? our front door just lifts up and off its hinges. Also dimensions quoted for sofa are maximum, it will arrive with cushions separate and perhaps feet are removable or are they integral part of sofa?
Interested to hear how you get on0 -
Hi,
looks tight,
the width is longer than your door height,
your hallway is 1 cm narrower than the depth, so remove any objects from walls before trying to get it through, might mark your walls,
if you have a hard job getting it through the first door, then it will be even harder at the second as it is 7cm narrower.
Doesn't look as though you have a lot of room for manoeuvring at the second door, may be as well to go past it and try coming in from other side.
Can you not take a window out in your lounge?
Good luck.0 -
No problem! Speaking from experience. I managed to get my sofa into our current house - sofa and house have very similar dimensions to yours. The only difference is our lounge door was much closer to the front door. This I believe made it harder for us.
Now for the pessimistic comments... it took myself and four friends several hours to do it! To this day I have absolutely no idea how we did it, and dread the day we move out.
Tip... there are so many different angles to try, and DO try those that do not seem obvious or even possible. Once you are through the front door and along the corridor, tip the sofa on its side. Then, bottom first tip it into the room, rotating on its side as you go!
Good luck. And most importantly have fun - it can be really stressful and lead to many arguments, but believe me you will soon look back and laugh... so enjoy it during the event as well to avoid the arguments.
Let us know how it goes.0 -
We had trouble with our new sofa but we have a narrower than normal front door. your problem might be getting from the passage in to the room but the delivery blokes seem to be able to do miracles.
hardest things we have squeezed in to our house so far have been an American style fridge and a range cooker but they all went in some how.

We recently ordered a new sofa and were also worried about whether it would fit. In the end we went with a suppplier who were happy to send someone round to check they could get the sofa in before the order was confirmed. (Beadle & Chrome). Lots of places very helpfully leave it in your front garden if they can't get it in the house!0

I had my sofa delivered today (DFS) and it didnt fit, not even in the window!.. At time of purchase I specifically asked if it would fit in a standard door and was assured yes it would.. turns out the end of the sofa is a 1m x 1m!!.. I mean who has a standard size 1 meter door!
Anyways I hav to go back to store and choose another! I waited 4 mnths for that sofa.0 -
Also had a Sofa from DFS , i was really stressed out as i lived in an apartment and they couldnt even get it up the stairs ......luckly they tried all different ways and got it up in the end but now im planning on moving im worried about getting it out again and getting into my new place

Quite a large sofa and im not sure how im going to get it into my new place as it will be very tight ......im a student so cant afford a new one as this is only about 5 months old.0 -
don't worry, even if it does'nt fit, sofas come flat pack nowadays and are built up in the factory, sent to the warehouse then distributed out to you. The guys who deliver your sofa should know how to dismantle it enough to get it into your house and then put it back together!![0

I had a new sofa delivered just over 1 week ago. We took all the dimensions and worked out that it would just fit through the front door. How wrong we were
. What we did not account for was the door handle and radiator cover. We could not shove the sofa box(come in a box because it is a recliner) through the door because it hit the radiator cover and we could not lift it up because the door handle was in the way. In the end we had to take it round the back of the house and through the patio doors and then take the kitchen door off its hinges. It was a bit long winded but we got there in the end.
If the sofa is a recliner it comes in pieces.
