London 2012

I just wanted to praise every bit of London 2012 , for the Olympics and Paralympics. Spent yesterday at the park and it was just fab. Thank you to The gamesmakers, the organisers, every single person that made the event what it was, and of course not forgetting the athletes who gave us some really special moments. It's been a wonderful summer of sport and even the weather seemed to know it needed to behave itself.

Thank you London 2012, I will never ever forget what a wonderful time you showed us and how to restore pride back into the nation.

Such a shame it's on a Monday, wish they would've had it next weekend so that more people could go.

So agree about the Gamesmakers, they were absolutely fantastic, they must be really special people.

I wonder how much flights to Rio are, I have 4 years to save :D

The parade is just up the road from me, my friend runs a takeaway stall on the route, so I'm gonna go give him a hand and watch the parade as it's an ideal viewing point and at least I can get a space to stand.

Looking forward to seeing my favourite athlete of all time Ellie Simmonds, she will be smiling even more than normal and will be so proud.

The amount of Gold medals I'll see going by will be amazing.

    So proud of our athletes.

I wonder if the Euro football had been on after the Olympics and the footballers had seen the 110% effort the athletes put in and the adulation they're getting. Whether they would have been inspired and actually put some effort in.
  • I agree, some footballers really need to have a look at themselves and their behaviour .

Watching the parade on telly now, just can't believe it's all over. Feeling very sad, but happy too!
  • Ive been very humbled by some of the athletes. Theyve given up their time and lives to train for that one moment to shine for their countries without all the money and glory you see footballers etc getting yet the dedication and effort they put in far outweighs some sportsmen you see week in week out

I went to the parade, just near the start, so many people were there, the city literally came to a stand still. Even the bankers were at their windows, sitting out on the window ledges etc etc.

There was a whole school opposite us who had been there since 930am.

The athletes looked so proud and over awed at the reception.

Oh lucky you, I would love to have been there but work got in the way of my Olympic enjoyment today. What a massive feel good factor the games have given us.

Can we have some more please ?

If it makes you feel any better, I came home and watched the fly past on tv and out of my window at the same time.

    What an amazing summer.

There isn't room - did you see the crowds?
