I currently rent from my brother and am moving to a larger private rental house.
I have 2 young children and am entitled to a 2 bedroom house.
I will be renting a 3 bedroom but only claiming for 2 and topping up the rent with my income.
Is this ok?
Also, my bank statements are odd. I have my account (a cash card account) and kept my ex partners account for some bills etc. Should I print off both lots of statements even though one account isnt in my name??
Thanks

Yes, it is ok to top up the rent yourself.
I would strongly advise against using an account in the name of your ex - it may lead to the DWP/ LA questioning whether you are still a couple.0 -
Thanks. Tax Credits have done searches already because he still has some bills that come here.
Obviously this will all stop when I move. One of the reasons for the move!
Shall I just send in mine then even though it is missing some bills?0
