Balance transfers

H there, I have two seperate credit cards with the same provider. One of the cards is offering 0% for 16 months which is fab. As I am not allowed to transfer one balance to the other as it is the same company, does anyone know if it is possible to shift the balance from the card that doesnt have the 0% offer to another provider then move it onto the 0% card?? Thanks in advance for any advice :)

The answer to your question is yes. However, it may not be the cheapest option.

    Who's the provider?
  • Hi Thank you for your reply. The provider I have the two cards with is barclays I have one with a balance of 4,600 which is just coming to the end of 0% interest in october and the other card with barclays I have a balance of 1,100 which has just offered me 0% for 16 mths. I have more than enough room to transfer the larger balance but as it is the same provider they dont allow it. My idea is to transfer to my mbna card which is offering 0% until August 2013(they charge a 3% fee ) and wondered if it would be worth then transferring it onto the 16 mth 0%. Am new at this so thank you for replying so quickly:)

If you have room on the MBNA card why not shift everything there, and worry about your next move next July?

It doesn't make sense to pay 2 sets of 3% BT fees just for an extra 5 months of 0%.
  • That is what I will do. I have enough room to transfer the larger amount to MBNA and will try to get them to increase my limit for the other. Thank you again , I have a habit of making things more complicated than they need to be! Thank you so much for your advice.
