Hi, I wonder if anyone can recommened a decent hoover?!
We currently have a Dyson cycliner one, cant rem model no but think it quite old one, and its as good as useless! doesnt pick a thing up, and carpet looks no different once Ive hoovered
We have quite a thick piled carpet and also OH mum comes over quite a lots and has dogs, so would like something to pick dog hair up too, I dont mind if it an upright or a cycliner one
Any suggestions/recommendations greatly recieved

I used to have a Dyson but have recently replaced it with the Miele Cat & Dog - it's fab. Much better suction and my carpets look as they have been professionally cleaned!
I got it from John Lewis as I found a £10 off code and went through Quidco but there is a site which has it cheaper but it was out of stock and I didn't want to wait (look on Kellkoo).0 -
Not cheap but the best !

Hi
I second what Kaggy says. I did a load of research looking at consumer reviews of all the most popular vacs and each time Miele came out tops. So bought a miele allervac and am sooo happy with it.

I go through hoovers like a knife through butter.............
then someone suggested a 'henry' - i got the numatic (proffessional one) it is hard work doing the hoovering!! but my carpets look good and so far i have had no clogs, no funny noises, no things stuck in it!! and i have had it 6 months (some have lasted me less time!)
Only pain is it isnt an upright!!
Got it via the net and got a fantastic deal and the guy was soooooooooooooo helpful. i will see if i can find the site again. http://www.cleanstore.co.uk/ this is the one i used.

I'll second what misfire say - Henry all the way for me.
We went through about 3 other makes in as many months, then got a Henry and, as far as vacuum cleaners go, we haven't looked back.0 -
I am also in a little dilemma. We have a lot of various different floorings - We have hard wood flooring in the lounge and dining areas, tiles in the kitchen, tiles in the bathrooms and laminate flooring in the bedrooms. The staircase leading to the rooms and the landing are carpet. I need a vacuum cleaner that can clean all types of flooring and it good. I have a dyson upright which has now got a hole in its hose and so there is no suction and actually flies the dust back out. I have seen rave reviews about the miele cat and dog and the sebo. I am confused as to what I should go for - considering the sebo is almost 100 quid more expensive. Any good deals on any websites that any of you know about?0

Hi
I also went for numatic Henry. Definately wouldn't look back on any of the others I've had. As it was said before, Henry will pick anything up, without getting clogged up. You often see builders etc with them in the back of their vans - that must say something for how hard these vacuums work.
Hope you find what you're looking for...0 -
Hi
Have you tried cleaning the filter in your dyson? I have the DC07, and find that it get's a bit rubbish at picking up, then I clean the filter and it works like new again!

we have a morphy richards upright pet hoover (bagless) about £70 from asda, great hoover and a neumatic henry (years old) in the garage, still going strong as well, have decided when i get my own house (not too distant future) i am going to buy my own henry- it picks anything up and has never clogged
