Hi, I am about to start paying the CSA for my 12 year old son and was wondering if i get any help from the goverment by way of tax relief. I live with my partner who is on employment and support allowance and we rent privately so i pay all the rent and council tax among other things.

no tax relief for maintenance.
Bit of a one-sided process
If the person that pays maintenance tries to claim any benefits then the maintenance is included in their income so they are assessed as having their full pay
If the person that receives maintenance tries to claim any benefits the maintenance is ignored and they are assessed the same as not receiving any0
