Travel Lodge stay

we stayed in the hotel at Butlins in Bognor a few weeks back and breakfast was an extra which we didn't go for. Instead I took a box of cereal, powdered milk and a plastic jug and made the milk up as required each morning (needn't have bothered as could have brought fresh as there wasa fridge)
Didn't want to pay Butlins prices for food at all so I made some muffins and bread pudding and took a loaf of bread and just went into the local town to the supermarket and brought bits for lunch. Also took loads of fruit and only let DS have sweets bought from the camp after he'd eaten 5 different fruits/veggies each day. It worked brilliantly. For dinner we looked on net and found local brewers fayre which had early evening specials which we went to which coupled with the meagre lunches worked well.0 -
We always head off to the local supermarket cafe when we stay in a travelodge, if you go to most of the supermarkets websites and then use their store locator and put in the postcode of the travellodge you'll be able to see if there is one nearby.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0

we always take cereals tupperware dishes and spoons with us then buy a carton of milk every day. In the evening we get fish & chips, baked potatoes or just sandwiches and stuff from a supermarket.0

Yep we do this too, breakfasts in Tesco are the cheapest. The other thing we've started doing is looking for a whetherspoons pub nearby, they do a quite cheap breakfast too.0 -
If you do this a lot I would seriously think about investing in a portable fridge. Ones that plug into the cigarette lighter in the car and also in the elec supply are quite reasonably priced too.
Ideal for keeping milk fresh in, and also cans of pop/bottles of water to take out with you on trips. Take longlife and put in the fridge as needed if you are going for more than overnight.
We take milk and a box of cereal - don't forget the bowls and spoons and much our brekkie in bed!:hello:0 -
