Bad news , Codie didn't make it . She had been getting worse from Friday and the vets had tried everything they could . We are all gutted , but we know she was suffering and was only going to get even worse.

I can't imagine the fear and pain this poor dog felt. I've just looked at the pictures of her burns and I'm in tears.

I truly would cause physical pain to whoever did this without even feeling remotely bad about it.

Apart from the pain and fear that poor animal must have endured, what really worries me about these situations is what the person who did it will go on to do. Many seriel killers for instance start off their 'career' when young by torturing animals.

Poor soul, as a collie owner it brought tears to my eyes reading this.

I just do not know what punishment is justified if and when someone is convicted of this attack.

Two people were arrested last week suspected of animal cruelty.Sadly tho that's all they'll get charged with I think,the should be tougher sentences for people who cause an animal death imho.

I just don't know the words to express how I feel about reading about poor Cody. All I can say is that I'm sitting here in tears.

I am in shock at the sad news I read on Codys page today, I really thought she would make a full recovery. I did wonder if it would have been kinder from the start (but at least they can say they tried to save her) as she was clearly in a lot of pain and traumatised, her tail never seemed to move from between her back legs - it just showed how much pain and sadness she felt. RIP Cody x

Just so people know there is a link for an E petition now on the Justice for Cody facebook page to try and increase the penalties people are given for mistreating their animals. People can sign it and hopefully once 100,000 signatures are reached the issue will be debated in parliament. If you are able to please sign it to help make sure that no other animals have to go through what Cody endured. RIP Cody sweetheart xxxx
