Car Insurance quotes.

I did loads of quotes yesterday for different companies and used the comparing web sites. The prices were fairly high as I expected as want it for myself and my daughter who has just passed her test.
The problem is when I have gone onto the saved quotes today they are updating them and upping the price by as much as £100+, is this a normal thing that they do and is there anyway to get the price I was quoted yesterday.
Also, I have had a few quotes from ones such as Admiral who give me an annual price then a monthly price but then say to phone them if you want to pay monthly. When I phoned them to pay monthly they then upped the price again for the direct debit charge but why give me a monthly figure in the quote if that wasn't the actual monthly figure.
Thanks.
