Aviva Car Insurance Renewal

I checked online yesterday and found that my renewal premium is actually lower than last year. Deep joy:j

I found that too this year. However I went through Quidco and a new policy worked out cheaper with the £70 cash back.

Thanks, I just checked with Topcashback and Aviva are giving a £40 cashback for new customers. Would I class as a "new" customer, if I've been insured with them this year? I don't have automatic renewal with Aviva.

If you took the policy out via quidco then yes i believe so.

Phone them up and you will possibly get it even lower.

Not in my experience at this renewal.

Plus, the garage I would want to use isn't on their list so I was facing a £800 excess comprising £250 compulsory for the type of car, £350 voluntary and £200 for a non-aviva garage. I asked to reduce the voluntary to nil but they could only reduce it to £150. Hardly voluntary then.

If you phone them and haggle you would need them to lower it by more than the £40 cashiack to get a better deal - you can't get cashback on deals done direct on the phone.
