I don't... but I do have the link for the A-Z of medical conditions used by DWP... it has specific information in relation to DLA care/mobility considerations for many conditions as well as other information like treatment. Let me see if this condition is listed.
It is...
http://www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/specialist-guides/medical-conditions/a-z-of-medical-conditions/ulcerative-colitis/
And this is the care/mobility section
http://www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/specialist-guides/medical-conditions/a-z-of-medical-conditions/ulcerative-colitis/care-and-mobility/
That section seems to indicate that there typically wouldn't be care or mobility considerations sufficient. However... awards are based on day to day effects of conditions and everyone is affected differently by any illness... and of course there may be linked conditions to consider (one which the A-Z suggests)... so study the DLA criteria carefully. It might be worth scanning the web to see if there are any British based groups online... often with medical condition related websites for sufferers there are benefit related matters raised.
To add... be aware that to get award the care/mobility problems must've existed for 3 months and be expected to last at least another 6.
Oh and I've found this.. it could be vital. The guide is specific to crohns and UC (which I know little about to be honest)... but actually I used it for guidance (I never found anything better) when I re-applied for DLA with Mental Health problems and I found it highly useful.

Thanks for posting that link, it's very good.0 -
I have had UC for over 25 years, it advanced to total colitis and I have associated conditions also, but I honestly don't think I could ever claim I have had care needs that are sufficient to claim DLA. If you go on the link you wil find there are very few people who have managed to get DLA and the ones that have, tend to have been awarded a long time ago, and often have a stoma.
ETA Even after my disease advanced to cancer and I needed up having 3 major surgeries, I didn't fit into the criteria.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -
It doesn't so much depend on the condition but the care needs that the condition cause. If your wife has needs way above the average person, complete the form, get some support from GP/consultant/nurse involved in care.0

At the end of the day, if you think your wife has needs other than above a "normal" person would have, then you should apply.
Whether she gets it or not is another story, but they can only say no. As stated, it's about mobility and care needs. Not about the particular illness.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Hi, yes I get DLA for this condition - higher rate mobility and lower rate care. I also have arthritis. I have had the condition for 4 years now and have been receiving DLA for 2 years. I work too (from home) and this doesn't affect my claim. Go for it! At the end of the day, they can only say no. Good luck.0
