If I request a new credit limit from Barclaycard will this count as a search on my
credit report? Trying to reduce the number of searches I have so don't want to request a higher limit if so.
Thanks!

Yes I believe they will search you unless you have an A1 profile which would include you having a clear balance on the card at least once in the last 12 months.0

When you log into your account there is an option to increase credit limit. It states that it will use the information gathered from credit reference agencies to make a decision.
I'm still searching for the answer on whether they search for a reduction in credit limit? :-/
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
I would not think so as it reduces their risk.0

I recently requested (and was granted) an increase in my BC limit, and there were no searches either at Experian or Equifax.0

Perhaps the search is not in file yet. I did a limit increase and got a search recorded, even though I have "clear" balances (I took that to mean "0" balance?).Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -
I didnt get a search either but I was declined an increase - could be failed internal scoring before going to the option of external. Saying that neither Barclays nor Barclaycard seem to like me for some reason even when others are tripping over themselves to help0

I think it depends. Many lenders maintain internal scores on customers and the action they take in response to a credit limit increase, for example, can depend on this internal score. If your internal score is very high it's possible they won't consult a CRA before agreeing to a sensible limit increase.

I increased my Barclaycard credit limit last month, no searches on any of the big 3 CRA.
Why would they need to search your file when they obtain a monthly feed?0
