How can this be done please?
I bought my son this imac in April and as I am not good with technology have not used it myself at all (to be honest it scares me)
It now seems that after downloading "applications and files and stuff" to quote him he now has loads of stuff he doesn't want and now wants to go back to before he put all this stuff on like he does with a pc.
Any help appreciated with this, thank you

Insert the mac osx install dvd into the drive
Reboot/Start the machine whilst holding down "C" and let the machine boot off the dvd.
Follow onscreen instructions.
If its a usb osx install media then hold down key marked Alt.
If its very new and its an appstore then double click on the install mac osx lion/mountain lion icon and follow instructions.0 -

Not necessarily as the newer models use appstore and/or internet recovery
Reboot the machine holding Command-R and it should allow you to boot the recovery drive.
