Collect plus, threw parcel over recipitent's fence, package was drenched by rain

I have used Collectplus a lot recently, but I sent an expensive set of headphones to a buyer and they said that the courier threw them over the fence, and they were left to be soaked by the rain, and the package and headphones were wet although fortunately working after being dried. I have had to refund the buyer some money. I have submitted a claim to collect plus but I am quite shocked by this "delivery method"

They use 'Yodel' to do the deliveries. Say no more.

Don't believe the thieving buyer! Hope you made the buyer return the item to you before you refunded them. They probably dropped them down the bog themselves by accident.

If the buyer saw the courier throw their headphones over their fence, why did they leave them out in the rain to get wet??? How did the courier get the buyers signature?

Weren't the headphones in a plastic bag/packet? Every headphones I've ever bought have been.

The buyer wouldn't have to have seen the courier do this: if the package was lying on the inner side of the fence, soaking wet, and there's no access to that side of the fence, it's a fair bet that the package was tossed over! Indeed, a card may have been left to that effect!
Signature removed for peace of mind
  • I use apc for my postage (packages over 1.5kg) found them great alot better than parcel force and ukmail which I have used previously.
