I hate threads when someone posts that their kid has to go to a crap school and it is all a bit of a surprise. Just how is that ?

Five years before the child starts school, when you are pregnant, you know and I mean you really know and are not just guessing, that he will need to go to school one day. Barring wealth or a lottery win, we are talking about regular local schools.

I can't quite believe your awful negative reply, I was under the impression that these forums were for help and advice, not for being vindictive. You clearly haven't actually read and understood my post correctly.

My son goes to a fantastic primary school, we did infact move house when he was 2 to ensure he would be going to a better secondary than the one that was previously the closest. We also chose that particular area as there is an amazing boys school just down the road.

He has now got 3 years left at primary and we are looking at Secondarys as in the last few years the local secondary has gotten an awful ofsted, been taken over by an academy and is suppposed to be on he way up. The boys school have changed their criteria on entry, and it is not now as simple as it previously was when we moved to that area.
So we are considering a move to an area that has a secondary that has been consistantly good.

You appear to have just read the title and assumed.
It isn't rocket science but if you bury your head in the sand and blow all your money on booze, fags and takeaways, then don't complain when little Jonny has to go to the crap school at the end of the road and will end up with a crap job because you couldn't be bothered to do what you had to do.

For your information we do not 'blow any money on booze, fags and takeaways'

We also have been 'researching the schools' that you have accused us of not doing - But as they can change drastically from one year to the next I was simply trying to ask advice from people who may have had similar experiences to us.
