Embarrassing viewings...

When we were trying to sell our house, we made sure we were out of the way so EA could show viewers round. When we got back, we discovered to our horror a decimated bird smeared right across on our kitchen floor. Our lovely cat had obviously decided to sabotage the viewing, the little sod had never caught anything before (or since). I asked the EA if he'd noticed something amiss. He said 'you mean the dead bird?'. Yes, they had all seen it.. Kitty's plan didn't work though, they put an offer in the next day!

When we went to view a house a while back, we were amazed to notice lots of the owners underwear hanging out to dry on lines in the kitchen which I thought it was a bit weird.

Anyone else had embarrassing viewings?

I remember on when i was selling my first house i forgot that the EA was doing a veiwing and was still in bed hahahaa
  • Yup.......when we were buying our first property some years ago we went to view a semi-basement flat. As we were about to look round the master bedroom we went into the room ahead of the vendors who were conducting the viewing, only to see some knickers lying on the floor by the bed - not sure if clean or dirty, but we suspected the latter as they appeared to have been 'discarded' there which is unlikely if they were clean ;) No-one commented and tbh I don't think they even noticed! We didn't buy the flat - not as a result of the undies, but 'cos we didn't like the galley kitchen.........:D
    Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

    Over £40,000 mis-sold PPI reclaimed
  • I have a bad habit of leaving my necklaces all over the house, when I take them off.
I was rushing around before a viewing, [STRIKE]hiding stuff[/STRIKE] tidying up. Each time I came across a necklace I flung it around my neck, ready to take upstairs.
Yes, you've guessed it............It wasn't until after they left that I realised I'd shown them around the house, trying to appear like a normal person...........while wearing 18 totally mis-matched necklaces.

Another time, my viewers turned up early. I was planning to eat some chocolate before they arrived.
Now, I like my chocolate a little 'melty', so often pop it down my top for 10 minutes (wrapped, obviously:)).
Once again, it wasn't until they'd left.......that I remembered the huge bar of dairy milk sticking up, obviously tucked into my bra:rotfl:

I finally realise why it took so long to find a buyer.

Teenage son bunked off 6th form to shag schoolgirl girlfriend.... obviously since he was "at school", his parents hadn't bothered notifying that the EA would be showing us around.... we did buy the house....

I have an empty property for sale - EA doing the viewings.

I went to check on the property and someone had used the toilet (for a number 2) and not flushed it!

I only go there every couple of months so it could have been there for a while.

I'm wondering if it was a viewer or the EA, either way it's not a very nice thing to do - imho.

Similar to the above, I was looking around a flat that still had tenants in it. I walked into the bathroom and was hit by a wall of stink. It was a very small bathroom with the toilet next to the door so I couldn't help but see into it. The tenants had left the most enormous floater I've ever seen and it had clearly been there quite a while.

The tenants were a couple in their 30s or so with a baby. Not a bunch of students or something! Not the slightest flicker of embarrassment from them either. Perhaps they really didn't want to move, despite very clearly needing more space.
