Halifax Saver Prize Draw - is it worth it?

Are you sure, badger, that you can register with the BoS accounts for the Halifax price draw? If so, I should probably get my finger out and register again.......
BoS savings accounts are eligible.
However, I do not expect that balances in either Halifax or BoS branded current accounts will count towards the £5k requirement.0 -
yep, you are right, rb10 (as always).Does money in a current account count towards the £5,000 savings balance requirement?
No, any balances held in current accounts will not be counted towards the £5,000 savings balance requirement.

Well, I was positive, however, now I'm not so sure:o.
You can definitely register BOS accounts for the Halifax Prize Draw.
The Halifax Prize Draw Rules refer to 'qualifying retail savings account', and make no mention of excluding current accounts, BUT the FAQ specifically says balances in a current account don't count

I registered online yesterday and got an immediate confirmation by text. I had tried to register a few days ago when my balance was only £2k and got a completely different text message.0 -
I suppose registration costs nothing....so I'll do mine, too, lol0

I won a prize in the January draw. They won't tell me what figure I have won until I go to a branch with proof of ID and some other paper work.
I'm out the country at the moment, I got 6 months to claim! I do wonder how much it is. I'm seeing if I can send a representative on my behalf.
Not sure if they tried to phone me but they sent a letter by recorded post. I have a single ISA with the Halifax.0 -
Don't get too excited. There have been several reports on here of people getting recorded delivery letter and hot footing it to the Halifax only to find they have won £100.

There is an interesting "winners near you" page on their web site.

Gosh someone within 25 miles of my location has won either £100,000 or £250,000.0
