Returning motobility car early???

Is it possible to return a Motobility car early?

I still have two years of the lease left to run but due to being no longer able to drive I no longer have any need for the car

How would I go about this??

Any help gratefully received

Just ring Motability and explain your problem.

They will explain if this is possible and how to go about it.

After all that is what they are there for and their staff are very helpful and are the only one who can say yes or no to your request.

Thanx for that I will do that on Monday

I was just wondering if it were at all possible to break the contract as I don't want the car to be sitting unused on my driveway

Also I will need the HRM money to get taxi's back and forth to appointments

    Thanx again

Thanx for that I will call them on Monday and explain my situ

I have had the car for a year (This is my third one) My nominated other driver has moved down to that London so I am a bit stuck Can't think of anyone else who would be willing and able to help

Again that has eased my mind so thanx for info

    Cheers

  • If you have a genuine reason which you do have they will take it back - I don't suppose it makes much difference to them as either you pay for it with your HRM and they sell it after three years or they sell it now - either way they are getting paid for it

My bf did this a few weeks ago as his two nominated drivers were no longer able to drive for him. Motability charged him a £250 admin fee which had to be paid at the time of ending the contract, the insurance etc was cancelled that night and they collected it about a week later, which was the earliest date they could. It's been 3 weeks now but he has not had his full rate of DLA paid in his payment last week, so is expecting the updated amount in his next payment.

Called them today and they are going to allow me to break my contract Thy have said they will collect the car in the next week.

No mention of a £250 admin fee Perhaps they will bill me for this

    Thanx to all

  • If it is for a genuine reason ie your health that you have to hand the car back then you wont have to pay the £250. We needed to change ours to an automatic and they allow you to change early once due to change in circs etc but after that they will charge you. We will also get some of our advanced payment back too which is a bonus!
I am sure you will be fine
