Im wanting to go to London in 10 weeks but it seems to be double what we paid last time (a month ago) should I wait til closer to the time?
I'm wanting 2 adults 2 kids return with family railcard going out 17th nov back 18th but I've never paid much over £50 for this journey and it's saying it's almost £100!

To answer you question... I have no idea.
If you were to tell us where you were travelling from, it might be possible to give a fuller response.
Twelve weeks is the maximum time that cheap tickets become available.
It is often a lot later than that, especially at weekends, when timetables around engineering works are finalised.0 -
Haha! From Nottingham. Obviously wasn't concentrating! Will keep checking the sites then0

Just check you've definitely ticked the family and friends railcard bit, and not another one by mistake. I couldn't work out where I was going wrong with prices last week, until I realised I'd chosen a 16-25 railcard instead!0

CHeck the time you are going as wel. If you can be flexible fiddle around with the times till you find a price you like. Prices can vary hugely in the space of a hour or to.
Try for an advance tickets each way sometimes they can be cheaper (not always) but they do mean you have to travel on a specific train.
Do you need a travelcard for London (onward travel in London) or just into one terminal?Back on the trains again!0 -
Can you gt to Grantham? East coast has tickets for £42.60 return for all of you.0

By the same token, if you put into the search engine (whichever you are using) and input via Grantham, you can have the same ticket from your home station. Should only be a few pounds more.Back on the trains again!0

I am going to London for the day on the 11th November. I booked on the virgin website from Crewe - Euston. It has cost us £56 for 3 adults and 2 children return including the railcard. I had to mess around with times to find the best price.£100 - £10,0000

Hi,
Snap we are going from Nottingham to London, but not until early December. Have been looking at train tickets (trainline and red spotty hanky) this morning and I can not book cheaper tickets for 1st December yet but can the week before (around £35 for 2 adults and 1 child using railcard on 24th Nov). So may be worth re-checking.
We also now tend to travel from Newark Northgate now as only about 20 minutes away from us, and days parking works out the same as bus fares into Nottingham! Train tickets are cheaper and quicker journey.0
