buying a new laptop whilst self employed

i trade on ebay & have recently registered as self employed. this will be my only income. i now intend to buy a new laptop & the laptop will be used during normal office hours for my ebay-ing. am i entitled to any cash back/rebate as the purchase is for work?

If reg for VAT you can get that back. Otherwise it will just be anallowable expense you can claim against tax.0

It would be a capital item so you can write off a percentage of its value against tax each year.What goes around - comes around0

Captial allowance? Yes, isn't it something like 25% each year over 4 years?
EDIT: Depends on the size of your business as to the first year expendature claim
