Big win... bit nervous

So just under a year ago I entered a random competition, more to illustrate my interest in a company (for graduate recuitment) than actually to win. I guess not many people entered and it required a lot of effort to find the correct answer, and it turned out that I won a nights stay away at a 5* hotel with dinner at a 2 michellin star restaurant and £75 for wine!

but it has taken me nearly a year to get round to booking it... I'm just really nervous because well, I don't win things usually and I don't think i'll fit in at such a nice place (with fancy food i'm not sure i'll like).

Anyway I thought i'd finally share and let people know how it goes. It's booked for the start of october :D

I can understand how you feel, don't want to feel out of place in a posh place like this, but you can just smile to yourself in the knowledge that everyone else there would be paying loads of money to be there and you get to enjoy it all for free! And if the comptition was an effort one, the prize is all the more deserving for you! Well done, go buy yourself a nice frock and feel like a princess even for just a day (& night) :D
I smile because I have absolutely no idea what's going on

  • Why shouldn't you fit in somewhere nice? The "posher" people there might have smarter accents or more money but it doesn't make them better than you or more deserving of nice things. The only thing that matters is that you enjoy your prize. Have a wonderful time!

I won, I won, I won! I've been Money Tipped!
well done, what a fantastic win!

Dont worry a bit, i won a weekend with lunch at the Ritz which my hubby thought was hilarious as i am a real hilly billy, much more at home in wellies than heels, but i took my mum, dressed in some smart trousers and sandals and had a fantastic time, it really broke the ice when i tripped in my sandals on the way in and fell through the door :o even the normally very straight faced doorman burst out laughing, and all the staff were so lovely, just be yourself and have a fantastic time :)
