Same as above but i only need a few £20 notes though. Enclose a SAE for its safe return.

Please enclose your phone number so that i can pass it onto other scammers. I make good money selling lists of gullible money savers.

    :D

May god bless you with many more wonderful offers in your email box.

Bit OTT isn't it? We're all used to sb's attitude and odd jokes but you're the sheep who has to follow the leader.

    1. When did you last decide to use (or consider using) a different mechanic? Why?

    2. Where did you look to find this new mechanic? What were the deciding factors in picking this new mechanic over other ones?

    3. What was the biggest problem with changing mechanic?

1: About 4 years ago when we bought the Astra as I wanted to keep up the dealer service history.

2: Local vauxhall dealer is family run and I also went to school with most of the staff and mechs and I trust them. Their prices are not extortionate either.

3: None at all. To me having trust and confidence in the people you have comissioned to do the job is key although pricing competitively helps. If you can tick all these boxes you're on to a winner. Communication with the customer is the key.

As a footnote to all this the Astra is the wifes car and it is the first car we have ever owned that I have not done all the servicing and repairs on. I do still maintain and repair my own car (16 year old Landrover Discovery).

It's very simples really, people with more mechanical knowledge that the average Joe, should not use technical BS to con them out of cash.

I know a fair bit about mechanics, electrical engineering and electronics... I don't go around making that very obvious (I find that the truly knowledgeable do the job properly, whilst the idiots just talk about it).

So the very second someone tries to feed me a load of BS, I do my contemplation face, followed with a short nod, followed by turning around and going somewhere else. Most often this happens when talking to dealership service managers and sales staff in electronics/computer related shops, though sometime I like to play them along a bit if I have time to burn :)

Yes I do since it will possibly link me to other forums. All I will say is that its rare and tech details are like rocking horse teeth. If I brought it in to you, I guarantee you would be like this =>. I've had many mechanics turn it away and refuse to work on it and others claim they can / will and get half way through and give up. Due to that, only one mechie in town can be trusted with it (pricey too). The other cheaper bloke I spoke of is also very good at what he does but will not work on my car, only my partners but again I trust him 100% to be honest and back out of it if he can't do the job or doesn't want it.

Sometimes these Trabants can be a bit complicated. ;)

You can use Honest Johns website to find how your local garage is rated. I had a look at a garage who use to service my car before I moved. I was always really happy with this garage and they got a 5 star rating.

Don't pay your mechanics peanuts and you won't get monkeys working for you.
This or you get mechanics stealing jobs from the garage

1 - I've only changed my regular mechanic once a few years ago which was simply due to the existing one being too busy (both small independent garages), I did briefly change to the main dealer garage last year to maintain the car's service history and some warranty work but will not go back again as they were no use at either.

    2. I chose the independent garage from recommendations by others, I didn't look anywhere

    3. No problems between the two independent garages, the only problem was the not so good main dealer but that's seems par for the course.
