Quick seller Question guys!!

Hi everyone,
Its been a while since I sold anything on ebay, and remember one time when I was buying something, I asked it to be sent to another address cos i'd moved, but the guy selling said he would only send it to my address he had.
Is this only for a confirmed paypal address, or an ebay address? My seller wants me to send something to Cyprus, and they seem genuine and have good feedback, just want to save some money and cut out the middle man, but am I not protected by paypal or ebay if I send to a different address that they have on their records? Is this the case for both ebay and paypal, or just one or the other? for instance, if the address in Cyprus is on their ebay account, but not paypal account, should I steer clear of sending something there? Providing they pay I have no problem, but dont want to get stung if there is a dispute and I have sent something to an address which neither ebay nor paypal have a record of!
Thanks for any help guys, appreciated! :j
P.S Anyone know the cost of sending a small package to Cyprus?

You need to send it to whatever address is stated on PayPal.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Cheers RBK. I thought as much. Does it matter if its unconfirmed though? Would this exclude me from some form of seller protection should there be a dsipute? Couldnt they just quickly add the cyprus address to the account and leave it unconfirmed?0

I don't think people in countries other than UK, USA and Canada can confirm their address anyway.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Okay thanks. I have sent them an email stating I will only send to a confirmed addy, but have yet to hear anything back! Theres always one isnt there why cant people just be normal and buy something without all the questions!!!
Cheers for the help, my other item sold fine and has already been paid for, so ive not lost faith with the system just yet! :cool:0 -
for paypal seller protection you have to send to the confirmed address
if they have an unconfirmed address it won't make any difference if you send to the paypal address or another address as you won't have any seller protection either way
i guess it depends how much the item is worth
as for cost of sending to cyprus, i can tell you (or you can look on royal mails price finder http://sg.royalmail.com/portal/rm/PriceFinder;jsessionid=MY35EK2HTIMIKFB2IGGUOSQ;jsessionid=MY35EK2HTIMIKFB2IGGUOSQ?catId=23500532&reset=true&gear=pricingcalc) if you know the weight0 -
Thanks for that pinkgem. I've checked the site, and I think its no mor than 2kg, so I guess it works out to be £14.19. Theres nothing there thats over £15 and i'm chargin that amount (but have said i'd refund a difference!)
Looks like i'm sending to Cyprus then. Wish me luck!0 -
watch out if its over 2kg as it won't be able to go by royal mail
it will have to go by parcelforce or another courier and will cost quite a bit more, approx £20-£30
good luck btw0 -

If you want full protection - refund the buyer via PayPal (there's a link for just this purpose), and request that they pay you by bank transfer for the amount including S&H to Cyprus.
If you want to take a chance with PayPal - ship to Cyprus, but you'll automatically lose any PayPal dispute as you have ZERO PayPal Seller Protection.
To have what limited Seller Protection that is provided by PayPal you need to ship to a confirmed address in the UK within 7 days of payment. For items over £250 you need the signature of the PayPal account holder; other items need to be sent track-n-trace. Also you and the transaction need to be eligible for PayPal Seller Protection... however if you fail to follow the rules you'll have ZERO PayPal Seller Protection.
Conversely you can ship to any address provided by the buyer when paid by bank transfer. Not only is it easier and faster than PayPal, but it's also FREE! of fees and much less risky."Money is truthful. If a person speaks of their honour, make sure they pay in cash."0 -
Although you will not have Paypal protection you will still be able to get its value back with Post office compensation using a certificate of posting if its below 32 pounds (is that now 34 pounds with the new prices?) or using airmail signed for or airsure for higher values. As has been said do check the weight. You are likely find a big jump in price if turns out to be over 2kg.0
