Cyprus

I've posted before about Cyprus but we hadn't decided whether to go or not, it looks likely that we will be going in June and i just wondered if anyone has any recommendations on places to stay, especially for adults.

Cheers........

We stayed in Coral Bay just outside of Paphos, it was lovely, can highly recommend Fat Mammas, we ate there several times and the kids still remember it.

I've stayed in both Paphos and Ayia Napa, and without a doubt Ayia Napa wins hands down.

Because it has fantastic beaches, white sand with clear blue sea. And you can visit Protaras and the surrounding area. A boat trip is a must as well.

It had the square with very lively bars, but it also has loads of side streets with some great bars and restaurants. If you want to miss the square then do so. But out gang found that they liked it last year.

I liked paphos but it just didn't do it for me. To long of a resort and to spread out. But i did like the harbour, but that was all.

Been to Ayia Napa & Protaras.

I can't say I prefer one or the other TBH, both were great hotels & fab locations. In Ayia Napa we stayed half board at the Napa Mermaid, which was around a 15 minute walk from the centre. Food was top notch - 'only' a 3 star, but I would have rated higher. A mixture of couples, families & even older couples in their 70's were staying there when we were! Some of the older couples had been returning for years. We also did the 3 night mini cruise across to Egypt.

In Protaras we stayed at the Pallini Apts (sc) but we paid for B&B, which was served at the Capo Bay across the road (literally a 1 minute walk). As we had paid for b&b we were able to use the facilities of the Capo Bay, but if we went again, I would pay to actually 'stay' there aswell! Beautiful grounds, & great facilities - they even reserve a sunbed for your entire stay, so no more getting up at 4am to get the best one!!! lol !

IMO, Cyprus has something for everyone.
:D I am in the future you know...
...9 hours ahead to be exact !:D

I agree Pernera, Protaras or Ayia Napa. Pernera if you like small & relaxed, Protaras for bigger & Ayia Napa (& Nissi beach) bigger still (but to go to Napa in July or August you gotta be under 30 & love clubbing:cool: ) the other months its "normal".

The east has fab beaches, warm gentle seas for swimming & are well laid out in a long coast road line, the busses then just run back & forth linking them easily (& very cheaply).:D

Pathos has not great beaches, a funny lay out, goes way back uphill (quite hard to get around if its really hot) & even the busses don't seem as frequent there:mad: . The seas around Pathos are sometimes not OK for swimming either:eek: .

What board are you planning on doing? Lots of every type:D .

Polycarpia which was AI and just a short 5 minute walk into Protaras centre and Tsokkos Beach again AI and in the centre of Protaras. We enjoyed it more ar Tsokkos beach.
