I am planting three trees this weekend. An arbutus Unedo, aNd two types of june berry. All three are good sized trees, six feet or over, but with lots of low branches and in the case of the arbutus, not many high ones on its stem.
When should i start to prune out the lower young branches? Young, or in a few years? And what time of year?
